About this slide show: I have always enjoyed photographing a subject that is pure at heart, where no commerical considerations come into play. High School Band is such a subject. I have photographed the Lafayette HS "Mighty Lion" Band extensively as my two sons entered high school and joined. My goal with the essay has been to show the band's annual cycle, the preparation involved for students, staff and parents alike, the successes and all around pride. I also want to show the impact band has on students themselves, how the experience is an excellent vehicle for personal growth. |
